“‘Saxophonist extraordinaire’ and local celebrity Jess Gillam is now 18 years old, and was the first saxophonist to win the Woodwind Final of BBC Young Musician of the Year. Her exuberant and virtuosic performances mark her as a rising star and her musicality and verve keep her audiences totally beguiled. She already has a busy programme of recitals and solo performances with top orchestras and on radio and was awarded Musician of the Year at the Cumbria Culture Awards presented by Melvyn Bragg in 2015. Her programme will be an eye-opening look at music both familiar and unfamiliar.”
Pre-concert talk with Jess Gillam at 6.45pm.
