In 2014, Jess was a Woodwind Finalist on BBC Young Musician of the Year and she was awarded the BBC Walter Toads Bursary for showing exceptional promise but not reaching the final. She has reached the Woodwind Finals again in the 2016 competition and will perform at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as part of the competition.
