Haydn Bateman classical guitar

Haydn Bateman, 21, is a classical guitarist from Hull studying under a scholarship at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London. The leading classical guitarist Milos Karadaglic described Haydn as “talented”, with “a special, unique touch”. Some of Haydn’s recent highlights include filming a masterclass with Milos Karadaglic at Universal Studios as well as performing with Milos, solo and duet concerts at Kings Place Concert Hall in London as part of the International Guitar Festival, winning the RCM guitar competition, and performing Cavatina from the film, ‘The Deer Hunter’ with the RCM Film Orchestra.

Patsy Gillam clarinet

Patsy, 13 has been a member of the prestigious National Children’s Orchestra since the age of 9, performing with Nicola Benedetti and Wynton Marsalis. She achieved Grade 8 Clarinet at the age of 12. She plays bass guitar in ‘Pesky’, a signed young indie band, appearing on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 with the band as well as performing at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium. Patsy is a student at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music. Patsy has performed at the Ulverston International Music Festival and was described by Anthony Hewitt as a “virtuosic clarinetist”.

Zoe Perkins trumpet BBC YM Brass Finalist

Zoe, 18, is a talented trumpeter from Cambridge. She gained a place in the National Youth Orchestra and a year later was awarded principal trumpet With NYO, she has performed in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and the Bridgewater Hall as well as appearing at the BBC Proms. Zoe has also been appointed as trumpet in the newly formed Britten Sinfonia Academy. Zoe is now studying at the Royal Academy of Music and has been awarded a full ABRSM Scholarship.

Andrew Woolcock percussion BBC YM Semi Finalist

Andrew, 17, is a percussionist from Preston and is a student at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music. He has given a number of high profile solo performances such as performing a solo recital at the United Nations Building in New York and a concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall. Andrew won the Percussion Final of BBC Young Musician and was one of five semi finalists. He is a Brand Ambassador for Acoustic Percussion and is sponsored by National Schools Travel.

Jess Gillam saxophone BBC YM Finalist

Jess, 18, made history as the first ever saxophonist to reach the Final of BBC Young Musician 2016. Upcoming concerto highlights include appearances with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Southbank Sinfonia. Jess was awarded Musician of the Year at the Cumbria Culture Awards presented by Melvyn Bragg and she has made a guest appearance with Jools Holland and his R+B Orchestra. Jess is studying at the Royal Northern College of Music as an ABRSM Scholar and is the Young Ambassador for the Ulverston International Music Festival. Jess is a Yanagisawa and Vandoren Artist.
