NDR Radiophilharmonie
JESS GILLAM, saxophone
Joshua Weilerstein, conductor
The young saxophonist Jess Gillam has taken the hearts of the audience by storm and is now making her debut with the NDR Radiophilharmonie . Guest at the conductor’s podium for the third time: Joshua Weilerstein .
For a long time the British Empire had not produced a really well-known composer of orchestral works – until Edward Elgar’s star rose. The A2 Symphony Concerto covers a wide range from Elgar through his legitimate successor Benjamin Britten to Barbara Thompson . Shooting star Jess Gillam shouldered her concert for three saxophones all by herself! The conductor of the evening is the American Joshua Weilerstein , who has directed the NDR Radiophilharmonie several times.
